AutoUni teaching events are aimed at Volkswagen Group employees. While Volkswagen Coaching, Audi Akademie, SEAT Formacion and Skoda Auto Coaching are responsible for the further training of employees across all departments, research-led programmes fall within AutoUni's remit.

Lectures, seminars, courses and cooperative study modules are offered for the individual vocational families and as interdisciplinary events. A vocational family comprises all employees whose work requires related technical skills. These employees work together despite differing levels of experience and expertise. Staff of all ages are committed to sharing and perfecting their skills and know-how. The vocational families are responsible for ensuring the company's technical excellence. They have been established and developed on an ongoing basis during the last two years. Examples of vocational families are Design, Electronics, Chassis, Purchasing, Foundry, Logistics, Marketing, Finance and Personnel. AutoUni fosters the networking of vocational families with reference to the core business processes via custom-designed programmes such as "Purchasing and logistics" and "Marketing, sales and financial services". Besides these specialist events for selected target groups, most lectures are open to all Group employees. With a view to furthering Volkswagen's involvement in the local community, some lectures are also designed for the general public.
